Police search for suspicious vehicle in home burglaries case
Edwardsville, IL (KSDK) - Investigators with the Madison County Sheriff's Office are looking for a suspicious vehicle possibly connected to a pair of recent home burglaries.
According to Captain Brad Wells, Chief of Detectives for the sheriff's office, the first residential burglary occurred August 9 in the 6600 block of Renken Road in Dorsey, Illinois. The sheriff's office took a second report of a residential burglary on August 11 in the 9200 block of Prairietown Road, also in Dorsey. In each of the burglaries, the front door was forced open and jewelry was stolen from each home.
A witness informed police of a suspicious vehicle in the area of the first robbery on August 9. That vehicle was described as an older model red Chevy S-10 single cab truck, with a white stripe along the side and a loud rumbling exhaust.
The sheriff's office is trying to locate the truck and the two occupants to determine if the truck really is connected to the burglaries, Wells said.
