Seventh annual Kickoff Scramble scheduled for August 26
HAMMOND – The seventh annual Southeastern Louisiana Kickoff Scramble, presented by First Guaranty Bank, is scheduled for Aug. 26 (Friday) at Carter Plantation in Springfield.
The scramble starts at 1 p.m. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with a $150 entry fee for individuals and $600 per four-man team. All proceeds raised will help support Southeastern Athletics.
The tournament, which is also sponsored by the Lion Athletics Association, is a four-man scramble that will include lunch, dinner, golf cart, greens fees, a logo golf shirt and cap. Participants will have a great opportunity to meet and greet the Southeastern Athletics family and interact with friends, alumni and business leaders from the Hammond community.
The Kickoff Scramble is the first of four golf events sponsored by the LAA in 2011-12. The SLU Fighting Lions Homecoming Scramble is scheduled for Nov. 4, the Carter Plantation College-Am is scheduled for March 18, 2012 and the Coaches' Memorial Scramble is scheduled for May 4, 2012.

Converted golf cart for hunting
I had the same thoughts and converted this one, 98' Yamaha G16 6" Jakes A-lift (should of got spindle drop) mine is only 36V, new batteries, New beast motor, still need to get a new speed controller and some H/D things like selenoid & F/R switch. Its amazing how quite these things are bc they simply displace weight onto 4 tires instead of walking and breaking everything. Ive driven right up on deer and they will just look at you, plus you dont leave a scent trail. If you have steeper and heavier terrain I would recommend a 48V system. Im actually going to sell mine and start over, just for fun. I like tinkering and building stuff. 36-48V is the standard golf cart, 48V is usually the biggest golf cart you can get. Theres not a whole lot of difference, just two batteries which you can add yourself while building the system. (same thing im prob going to do) Full charge will last several days but if your riding for a long period of time then maybe 15 miles. This is the only part that truely sucks , you have to get back and wait 4-6 hrs for a charge. The bigger buggies in the industry are 64-72V systems and 4x4 so thats where all the money comes in. If I do decide to get one, I will have to get a 4X4 or have to install the conversion kit I have been told about to make it 4X4. I will probably have to get a 48V also. We have 357 acres that we own, that is about 4.5 miles around the perimeter and about 6 miles of trails to run on. It does sound like a full charge would last an entire weekend though.
